Hi, I’m Greg Morgan, and The Wave at Paria shook my faith.
I grew up believing in evolution, and did not accept Jesus Christ as my Savior until I was 24. I struggled for several years with the intellectual challenge that my new faith presented, and had grown strong enough to testify about why I had become a young-earth creationist. Then, I saw a photo of “The Wave at Paria”. At first, I thought the Wave was a river bed between the rock layers, which I had taught did not exist. Was I a liar and a false witness? After two weeks of prayer and study I saw that the Wave has whirlpools and mud slides. The Wave is not a river bed between layers of rock, but rather was laid down as a large underwater mud slide. And since the U.S. Geological Society shows that the sand came from the Appalachian Mountains, 1250 miles away, the Wave is strong evidence for the global Flood of Noah’s day.
It took me 15 years after coming to faith in God, to go from being an evolutionist to a believer in Biblical creation - - Creation by our God, about 6,000 years ago. I hope that it takes others less time. I now teach and use photography to vividly show that the world we live on reflects God’s glory. The beautiful rocks present the evidence that there was a global flood. I try to honor God and show how science and the Bible do not contradict one another. Above all, I try to help others learn to “love the Lord with all your mind”.
